Introduction to Orbital Mechanics – Maneuvering in Space
Session Description
Students will consider why objects move through space in curved shapes and apply geometry and physics concepts to better understand celestial motion. By trading “height for speed” the connection between transforming potential for kinetic energy, e.g., the conservation of mechanical energy, students may calculate spacecraft maneuvering (orbital changes and rendezvous).
Learning Outcome
Students will correlate everyday phenomena to orbital motion including the conservation of mechanical energy (e.g. roller coasters and pendula)
Session Schedule
This Session runs weekly, every Sunday for 5 Weeks.
Starting from: 3rd March ’24
Pricing
$60 per course (includes all 5 week meetings)
